2nd West Edinburgh Sportsman’s Lunch

After the success of last years lunch which raised £1,500 for children’s Charity CHAS, the 2nd West Edinburgh Sportsman’s Lunch was organised and held on Friday 2nd November raising £2,600 for Prostate Scotland. The lunch was held again at Turnhouse Golf Club and this year’s guest speakers were Scott Glynn, a former Preston Lodge Rugby Club player and Eric Davison a former footballer who provided their own unique brand of humour.

The tables were hosted by several different companies with many returning for a second year. The prize draw was well received with prizes being gifted by Campbells Meats, Paterson SA, Turnhouse Golf Club and Taylor Maxwell. It was then onto the auction of golf at Archerfield Links, (donated by Pernod Ricard) and signed Hearts jersey/hospitality package (donated by The Restaurant Limited), both of these auction prizes were received well and both were purchased by John Hume of JMH Management Services. A golf day at Slaley Hall was won in the prize draw by one of our associates and was kindly donated back into the auction raising a further £180 courtesy of David R Murray associates. The final auction prize of a meal for eight people, cooked in their home by Graeme Pacitti, proprietor of ‘The Restaurant’ and served by one of his waiters was successfully purchased by Stuart Duncan of Davidson Chalmers.

The day was again, a great success and hopefully becoming an annual event where it can go from strength to strength. We would like to extend our thanks Jim Gray (Property Moments Ltd) for the wonderful job he did in chairing the event and to those who attended and very generously donated to Prostate Scotland.
