Johnston Smillie Ltd.
Incorporated in 2007, Johnston Smillie aim to give clients a personal service of the highest quality using a professional, enthusiastic and pro-active approach. We establish relationships with our clients which provide them with a one-stop source of advice which is given on a pro-active basis as well as on request.
We are one of the largest independent practices in Edinburgh where our business comprises of a range of people and services all geared to helping you achieve the honey pot - whether you need business advice or personal financial and tax planning.
We are available to help businesses of all shapes and sizes with their compliance, management and strategic requirements. We can do everything from personal self-assessment tax returns to cradle-to-grave tax planning and saving exercises.
Our History
1900's The business started life, over a century ago, as a traditional firm of Edinburgh Chartered Accountants providing basic compliance services and general advice to a range of clients.
1988 The office was based in the city centre until 1988, when the move was made to a modern office, with dedicated parking on the west side of Edinburgh.
2003 The firms of Byers & Co and Helen M. Oliver were merged into the practice and the Firm expanded into a second office at Roseburn.
2007 Ian Nicholson CA merged into the Practice from 28 July. Incorporated on 1 August as Johnston Smillie Ltd.
2010 With over 40 staff, we are still offering a personalised advisory service for all our clients.
Office Hours
Both our offices are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday including Bank Holidays.
As part of the Firm’s approach to flexible working for staff, our offices will close at 12.30pm on each Friday during the summer months of June, July and August. Any clients who may require our urgent assistance after 12.30pm should phone our usual number (0131-317-7377) and they will be directed to the mobile numbers of one of the partners.
